Makena Muturia
Geospatial Engineer & GIS Expert
Makena has over eight years’ experience in surveying and mapping. She holds a
bachelor’s degree in Geomatics Engineering and Geospatial Information systems
from (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology) and ongoing
MA, Environmental law at UoN. She is a full member (MISK) of the institution
of surveyors of Kenya having joined in 2018. She’s an approved assistant under
the Land surveyors board (LSB). She has vast experience in cadastral surveys and
GIS. Having spearheaded most of the challenging property surveys, and projects
at the firm, her skill sets cut across project management with timely deliverable.
With an eye for details, results, technology and innovation, Makena has steered
the firm’s tremendous growth as the managing director for the past six years.
She has steered the firms’ departmental structures and takes lead as the Project
director across all departments; GIS, Urban & regional Planning, Land &
Engineering survey, UAV Mapping, and environmental services..
Besides she has driven the firms’ strategic partnerships with our clients and other
sector stakeholders in the industry. This has propelled continuous learning,
referrals and delivery on project.
Makena is an enthusiast of spatial technologies and continues to steer the firm’s
growth through adoption of current mapping technologies for ease of delivery
and enhanced mapping accuracy.
Johnstone M. Mutambuki
Geospatial Engineer | Land Surveyor
Johnstone is an accomplished Geospatial Engineer with a specialization in land
surveying. Has over three years of practical experience and has established
a reputation for delivering accurate and reliable geospatial data for various
projects. As a Geospatial Engineer, Johnstone plays a pivotal role in the field of
land surveying, utilizing cutting-edge technology and geospatial tools to collect,
analyze, and interpret spatial data. His expertise lies in conducting field surveys,
using GPS and modern surveying equipment to gather precise measurements
of land features, topography, and boundaries. He has a strong foundation in
geospatial principles, including cartography, remote sensing, and Geographic
Information Systems (GIS).
He possesses a comprehensive understanding of surveying methodologies, legal
frameworks, and industry standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and
maintaining the highest level of accuracy in all surveying activities.
Throughout his career, Johnstone has demonstrated a commitment to delivering
exceptional results. His attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability
to work effectively in diverse environments have contributed to the successful
completion of numerous land surveying projects. He has collaborated with
6multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and construction
professionals, to provide essential geospatial data for planning, design, and
construction purposes. In addition to his technical expertise, Johnstone is
proficient in utilizing advanced software and geospatial tools such as AutoCAD,
ArcGIS, and Agisoft Metashape. He possesses strong analytical skills and is adept
at processing and interpreting geospatial data to generate accurate maps, charts,
and reports.
RACHAEL MUTHAKA
GIS and Remote Sensing Specialist
Rachael is a GIS & Remote Sensing expert with over four years of experience
in the field. She has a strong background in geospatial analysis and data
visualization. Rachael holds a Bachelor of Science in Geospatial Information
Science and Remote Sensing from Dedan Kimathi University of Technology and
has continuously expanded her expertise through certifications and professional
development courses in GIS, Remote Sensing, and related technologies. She
is also a member of institution of surveyors of Kenya under the chapter of
Geospatial Information management surveyors as well as a licensed UAV pilot.
Currently, Rachael is a GIS & Remote Sensing expert at Geosurveys & Geospatial
Information Limited, where together with the team of skilled professionals
they offer cutting-edge geospatial solutions. In addition to her work, Rachael is
passionate about sharing her knowledge and frequently conducts workshops and
training sessions to empower others in the field of GIS & Remote Sensing.
Angela Robb
Business Adminstrator
She is a seasoned business administrator, who began her career in the corporate
world in 2016, she rose through the ranks due to her exceptional planning,
coordination and execution. She has a passion for excellence, solution oriented
and commitment to ethical business practices. She has proven to be an asset in
various leadership roles.
With her steadfast commitment to her work, Angela believes in Servant
leadership. She has integrated Christian values into her profession and
leadership, on boarding compassion and strong work ethic in all endeavours.
These values have guided her throughout her career, shaping her approach
to business and leadership. At GGIL, she plays a crucial role in streamlining
operations, developing strategic initiatives, ensuring overall efficiency and
effectiveness of the organization, implementing processes and polices that
improve efficiency and productivity. Her expertise in budget management,
team leadership, and process improvement has been instrumental in driving
the company growth and success. She is also passionate about mentoring young
professionals and volunteers her time to support local business development
programs.
Brian Mwenda
Assistant Physical Planner
Meet Brian Mwenda, a land use, urban and physical planner with a passion for
the built environment and planning of spaces for convenience, optimization,
economic growth, and sustainability. With a bachelor’s degree in urban and
regional planning from Maseno University and 3 years of experience in the
built environment, Brian has honed his skills in urban planning, advocacy, GIS,
research, online data collection, analytics and reporting with proficiency in
ArcGIS pro, MS 365 and ODK software.
He is a data-driven planner, keen to planning data details and will always refer
you to Benjamin Franklin’s quote, “If you fail to plan you plan to fail”
DR. David Maserati Makori (Ph.D.)
Environmental planner
Dr. David Maserati Makori is a geospatial scientist, an environmental planner
and landscaper with over 15 years’ experience. He has a Ph.D. in geography
from the University of KwaZulu Natal South Africa, a master’s degree in
environmental planning and management from Kenyatta University and a
bachelor’s degree in landscaping from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture
and Technology. He has expertise in geospatial modelling, machine learning
and artificial intelligence. He has garnered massive knowledge in land use and
landcover, greenhouse gas assessment and landscape integrity assessment. He
also has vast experience in catchment integrity management, degradation and
restoration, hydrological surveys and planning.
Dr. Makori is a lead environmental expert who has led several environmental
impact assessments and audits. He has vast experience in strategic
environmental assessment for plans and policies, environmental and social
impact assessments and audits for plans and projects. Makori is an expert in
climate change, climate resilience, mitigation and mainstreaming. Over the
years he has worked as a solid waste management specialist mainstreaming
waste circular economy to actualize the zero-waste concept and reduce the
impact of solid waste in climate change. Dr. David Makori is also a specialist in
hydrological modelling and disaster risk management.
