KOMPSAT-7A is a companion mission to KOMPSAT-7, featuring a compact, advanced Earth imaging platform built with Korean technology under KARI's leadership. The main payload is the AEISS-HR optical sensor delivering 30 cm panchromatic, 1.2 m color, and 4 m infrared imagery enabling detailed monitoring of land use, urban growth, disaster zones, and thermal phenomena.
The roughly 2,000 kg satellite is slated for launch aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, representing a significant advancement in Korean Earth observation capabilities.
